Drop your Pie!

We had a very funny evening here a couple of weeks ago when two English couples we know came for supper. Turns out they have roots in common in the UK, ooop north around Southport, Liverpool, Manchester, Parbold and Wigan. Loads of hilarious conversation and heavy northern accents, and lots of jokes about Wigan folk's propensity to eat pies. (I didn't know before that the meat and potato in pies in that area is called 'lobby' - hence 'lobby gobblers' - !!)

After a joke that goes 'how do you know when a Wigan girl is having an orgasm? She drops her pie', (!!) a new phrase has entered the common parlance of the Fruitbats and Friends. Our mate Penny and Jeni went to the local garden centre. They hadn't been there for ages and it looked fabulous when they walked in - stuffed to the gunnels with amazing plants - loads of lovely colour everywhere. Penny's first comment - 'Ooooh! I think I'm going to drop my pie!' - !!!
